Frequently Asked Questions
Coomia is a privately deployed, Flink-native data intelligence platform that unifies streaming + batch pipelines, a Palantir-grade 16-module business ontology, and a 5-agent AI analytics super-team in one stack — replacing the Airbyte + dbt + Dagster + BI + catalog tool chain. Annual subscription, unlimited users, deployed inside your own infrastructure.
Coomia offers the same category of ontology-driven decision intelligence — object types, actions, rules, world branching, decision studio — at roughly 1/10 to 1/20 the commercial cost, with full deployment control. Coomia is designed to be self-hosted by mid-market enterprises and vertical SaaS vendors rather than requiring Palantir-scale procurement and professional services.
Coomia is not a data warehouse. It runs on top of Apache Doris and can overlay existing Doris, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or ClickHouse. Databricks and Snowflake provide compute + storage; Coomia provides the pipeline authoring layer, the ontology semantic layer, and the AI analytics layer on top. Coomia complements a warehouse rather than replacing one.
Coomia replaces the entire modern-data-stack chain with one platform: AI-authored Flink SQL instead of dbt models, native CDC instead of Airbyte connectors, built-in column-level lineage + contracts instead of separate catalog + observability vendors, and a first-class ontology + AI analytics layer on top. One vendor, one deployment, one contract.
Data platform teams at mid-market to enterprise organizations, vertical SaaS vendors, and regulated industries (finance, healthcare, manufacturing, government) that need private deployment and want to consolidate multiple data tools into a single stack with AI-grounded analytics.
After deploying Coomia, the one-click onboarding wizard walks you through three steps: (1) connect a source database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Doris, ClickHouse, and more), (2) let Coomia scan the schema, detect relationships, and draft entity types, (3) review and deploy the AI-generated Flink SQL pipeline with Doris DDL. Most users have their first pipeline running within minutes.
We support 20+ data sources including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, Kafka, and more. Our connector framework is extensible, so custom connectors can be built on request.
Yes. Coomia connects to existing Doris, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse databases and overlays ontology, governance, and decision intelligence on top. You do not need to migrate away from your current warehouse — the platform augments it rather than replacing it.
The AI engine combines your business ontology (object types, relationships, properties) with your natural-language description to generate production-quality Flink SQL jobs and Doris DDL. It follows the medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with contract-first codegen, data quality rules, schema drift detection, and monitoring hooks.
The ontology engine lets you model your business domain as structured objects with typed properties, relations, and behaviors. Think of it as a living data dictionary that bridges business language and technical implementation. Changes to the ontology automatically propagate to downstream pipelines, dashboards, and AI agents — and it directly grounds the LLM answers via OAG (Ontology-Augmented Generation).
Coomia deploys as a containerized application via Docker Compose or Kubernetes (Helm charts provided). Minimum: 4 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 100 GB storage. Supported OS: Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+, CentOS 7+). Runs on any cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud) or on-premise hardware. A detailed deployment guide is provided after purchase.
Updates are delivered as new container images and migration scripts through our secure update channel. You receive notifications via email and can apply updates at your convenience. Release notes and migration guides accompany every release. During your active subscription all updates are included at no additional cost.
After purchase you receive a license key by email. To activate: (1) log into your Coomia admin panel, (2) go to Settings → License, (3) paste the key and click Activate. The license is bound to your deployment instance. If you need to migrate to new hardware, contact support for license-transfer assistance.
